I work a lot and experiment with drums. In addition to the expansion of the GUDA model range, one of the examples of improvement is that I managed to expand the range of the instrument notes and make the central note more bass and low. Now I am setting up mini overtone plus in the range of Eb3 to D5
About Gold GUDA drum MINI Overtone Plus
My innovation consists in the method of tuning. Manipulation and forging of the tongue causes very intresting effect – one tongue produces 2 notes instead of one: main tone+overtone, which commonly tuned +1 octave. This is effect makes sound more volumetric and deep.
Gold MINI Overtone Plus designed specifically for travel. It easy to take with you to nature, in a car or plane. Gold MINI Overtone Plus is lightweight and compact. However, it has a very rich and full-bodied sound. The instrument consists from two hemispheres made from 1,5 mm steel. Nine oval-shaped tongues located at the upper hemisphere. The lower hemisphere has no holes and serves as the amplifier of the resonance.
This model made of stainless steel and unlike conventional paint, vacuum deposition of titanium nitride creates the thinnest layer of protection in a few microns. Also, it is chemically inert, that is, it is resistant to oxidation acids, has excellent protective properties against oxidation, physical impact, flexible and plastic. MINI Overtone Plus does not lose brightness and shine.
Titanium nitride (TiN; sometimes known as Tinite) is an extremely hard ceramic material, often used as a coating on titanium alloys, steel, carbide, and aluminium components to improve the substrate’s surface properties.
Applied as a thin coating, TiN is used to harden and protect cutting and sliding surfaces, for decorative purposes (due to its golden appearance), and as a non-toxic exterior for medical implants. Coating applied of less than 5 micrometres (0.00020 in) in most applications.
