About Black GUDA drum Big Overtone
The new Guda drum Big Overtone model continues the line of large Guda Standart and Guda Plus models, as well as the Guda drum Hybrid. The upper part of the drum has a greater thickness of metal, this gives even more depth and brightness to the sound, as well as noticeably lengthens the sustain. Acquired a new pleasant textured protective coating made of powder paint, which positively affected the sound of the instrument, softened its timbre, affecting the overtones of metal in the spectrum of the sound of the musical instrument. Also, the drum received additional tenth note.
A rubber rim on the edge protects the hands from injuries and GUDA drum Big Overtone from damage.
GUDA drum Big Overtone consists from two hemispheres made from stainless steel. The lower hemisphere has hole and serves as the amplifier of the resonance. The oval-shaped tongues are located at the upper hemisphere. My innovation consists in the method of tuning. Manipulation and forging of the tongue causes very intresting effect – one tongue produces 2 notes instead of one: main tone+overtone, which is commonly tuned +1 octave.
Also, you can play these overtones separately – you need to hit underneath the tongue. You can hear the high note which we call «flageolet». It is similar to playing flageolets on guitar or other string instruments.
