I managed to expand the range of the instrument notes and make the central note more bass and low. Above all It is one of the examples of improvements in addition to the expansion of the GUDA model range. Now I’m setting up mini overtone plus in the range of E3 to D5
About GUDA drum MINI Overtone Plus Big Wave
My innovation consists in the method of tuning. Manipulation and forging of the tongue causes very intresting effect – one tongue produces 2 notes instead of one: main tone+overtone, which is commonly tuned +1 octave. This is effect makes sound more volumetric and deep.
This model is designed specifically for travel. Its easy to take with you to nature, in a car or a plane. MINI Overtone Plus is lightweight and compact. However, it has a very rich and full-bodied sound. The instrument consists from two hemispheres made from 1,5 mm steel. Nine oval-shaped tongues are located at the upper hemisphere. The lower hemisphere has no holes and serves as the amplifier of the resonance.
Design
To decorate the MINI Overtone Plus Big Wave, I developed a new technology for etching stainless steel. This technique has its own peculiarities: it is very difficult to achieve the same result on different instruments. The same design may be slightly different from the photo, be lighter or darker, and also have a slightly different texture.
The composition of the picture and the character of the line remain unchanged!!!
